01Who these terms are with

This site is NI Padel, at nipadel.com. These terms are between you and the company identified at the foot of this page, and they apply every time you use the site, hold an account or enter one of our events. If you do not accept them, do not enter.

How tournaments and rankings are administered is set out separately in the tournament and ranking regulations, which forms part of your agreement with us when you enter. Where the two documents cover the same ground, the regulations govern how an event is run and these terms govern everything else.

02Accounts

You need an account to enter an event. One account per person: accounts are personal and must not be shared, sold or held on somebody else's behalf.

Keep the details on it accurate, particularly your name, email address and mobile number, because those are how we reach you about an entry and on the day of an event. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has been using your account.

We can suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms, to misrepresent who somebody is, or to manipulate entries, ratings or results. You can close your own account at any time by asking us, though we keep the record of events you have already played, because that is the competition record and other players' results depend on it.

03Entering a tournament

Entries are by pair. One of you starts the entry and names a partner; your partner does not need an account first, and will be invited to set one up. An entry is not complete until both players are identified, any eligibility requirement is met and the fee has been paid in full.

An incomplete entry holds no place. Nor does a completed one, immediately: every entry is reviewed before it is confirmed, and confirmation is what puts you in the event.

Where more pairs enter than there are places, who gets in is decided by the method published for that event, which the regulations set out grade by grade. A pair who is not accepted is refunded in full.

Entries cannot be transferred or sold to another pair. Changing partner needs the organiser's approval.

04Paying

The entry fee is per player and is shown on the event page before you commit to anything. A pair pays it twice, either in one go by one of you or half each, whichever you choose at checkout.

Payments are taken by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never to us: we hold a record that a payment was made and its reference, and nothing else about the card. Your card is charged at the point you pay, not when the entry is later confirmed.

If you pay half and your partner never pays theirs, the entry lapses after the stated window and your half is refunded. Prices are in pounds sterling and include any tax that applies.

05Refunds and cancellation

You can cancel an entry and have the fee refunded in full at any time up to the entry closing date for that event. Ask us, or withdraw from your account, and the refund goes back to the card it was paid from.

After entries close, an entry fee is not refundable. By that point the draw is being built around your pair, and a withdrawal costs a place somebody else could have had.

That is a different thing from us not accepting an entry. Where we reject an entry, or do not accept it because an event was oversubscribed, the fee is refunded in full whenever that happens, including after the closing date. We aim to do that within five working days of the decision.

A refund is made to the card the payment came from. Where a pair paid half each, each half goes back to the player who paid it.

06No cooling-off period

Buying online usually carries a 14-day right to change your mind. That right does not apply to a tournament entry, because it is a contract for a leisure service on a specific date, which is one of the exceptions in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. The same exception covers concert tickets and restaurant bookings.

The refund terms above are what we offer instead, and they are more generous than the law requires for an event of this kind.

07If we cancel or change an event

If we cancel an event before it starts, every entry fee is refunded in full. If an event is abandoned once play has started, for weather, a venue problem or anything else outside our control, we will tell you what we are refunding and why, and we will be fair about it: the more of the event that was played, the less there is to give back.

We may change the date, the venue, the format, the number of courts or the timings of an event where we have to. Where a change is significant and you would rather not play, tell us and we will refund your entry in full even if entries have closed.

We are not responsible for what a cancelled or rearranged event costs you elsewhere, such as travel or time off.

08What you post and submit

You can submit things to this site: a player profile and photograph, a club listing, a coach profile. Only submit what is yours to submit. By sending it you confirm you have the right to, and you give us permission to publish it on this site and use it to promote the series, for as long as it is relevant.

A photograph must be of the person it claims to be, and must be something you would be happy for anybody to see. We review submissions before they appear, and we can decline or remove anything without having to explain why.

Ask us and we will take down something you submitted. That does not extend to results, rankings or the record of an event you played in.

09Rankings and results

Results, rankings, seedings and the entry lists of our events are published as a normal part of running a ranked competition, and stay published as the record of what happened.

Rankings are worked out from results and are recalculated when results change. We correct mistakes when we find them, which can move a ranking position up or down. A ranking is a description of results, not a promise, and nothing is owed to anybody on the strength of one.

10Using the site properly

Use the site for what it is for. Do not try to break into it, scrape it wholesale, overload it, or interfere with anybody else's use of it. Do not enter false information, impersonate another player, or use it to harass anybody.

Do not attempt to manipulate ratings, rankings, entries, results or player identities to get into an event you would not otherwise be eligible for. That one is in the regulations as well, and it is the misuse we care most about.

11Our content and yours

The design of this site, its text, the NI Padel name and logo and the structure of the grades and ranking system belong to us or are used with permission. You may read, print and share pages for your own use. You may not copy the site, republish substantial parts of it or use our name or logo as though you were us or were endorsed by us.

Club logos, coach photographs, partner marks and player photographs belong to whoever owns them and appear here with their permission.

12Other sites we link to

We link to club websites, booking systems, partners and other places off this site. We do not control them and we are not responsible for what is on them or for what happens when you use them. A link is not a recommendation.

13Availability

We try to keep the site up, and it will sometimes be down: for maintenance, because something broke, or because something upstream of us broke. We do not promise uninterrupted access and we are not liable for the site being unavailable.

If the site is down while entries are open, and that stops people entering, we will extend the closing date rather than let it decide who gets in.

14Liability

Injury, insurance, personal property and the venue's responsibility for its own premises are dealt with in the tournament regulations, which apply to everybody who plays.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of enjoyment, earnings or opportunity, or for loss caused by a venue, another player or any other third party. Where we are liable, our liability in connection with an event is limited to the entry fee you paid for it.

15We are not a governing body

NI Padel is not a national or international governing body and is not affiliated to one. We run our own tournament series and our own ranking list. Our grades, points and rankings are ours, and do not carry any status with any federation or with any other organiser.

16Complaints

If something has gone wrong, write to info@nipadel.com and tell us what happened. We would much rather hear it from you than not. We will acknowledge it and come back to you with an answer.

Decisions about eligibility, entries and results have their own route, set out in the regulations.

17Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the series develops. The version published here is the current one, and the date it took effect is at the top of the page. Changes are not applied backwards: the terms that govern an entry are the ones in force when you made it.

18Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you keep the protection of the consumer law where you live, and can bring a claim in your own courts.
